Do Not Blame Colts Mike
Vanderjagt for the Lost
By: Jason Cunningham (1/19/2006)
Right now, in Indianapolis, IN,
some are demanding that Colts kicker Mike Vanderjagt be traded. This request is
a result of him missing a 46 yard field goal, in the fourth quarter of their
Divisional Playoff loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, which would have tied the
game at 21. Unfortunately, Vanderjagt missed the field goal and the Steelers ran
out the clock.
You should consider trading all of the
defensive backs that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger that he torched in
the game, if Vanderjagt must go. I guess half of the Colts' offensive line that
was beaten repeatedly by a 3-4 defense must also be sent packing. The Colts team
had lost the game long before their kicker missed. Vanderjagt should not needed
to kick a game tying field goal, if the team had played better.
The Indianapolis Colts should have lost
the game. They did not play well enough to win. The blown call on the by
Steelers safety Troy Polamalu is the only reason there was a Colts' fourth
quarter comeback. Without the referee's blown call, the Indianapolis Colts might
not have scored more than three points. It is time to move on, and stop blaming
Mike Vanderjagt for the Colts' playoff loss.
