The Pittsburgh Steelers Do It
Again!
By: Jason Cunningham (1/23/2006)
I would like to thank the Pittsburgh
Steelers. On 5/23/2005, I wrote my 2005 NFL
Preview. In that article, I stated the Steelers would represent the AFC in
this year's Superbowl.
Yesterday, the Steelers became only
the second team in NFL history to win 3 road playoff games. The 1985 New England
Patriots was the other team that accomplished this feat. The Steelers did not
care that the Denver Broncos had not lost a home game this season. The game was
not close. The Pittsburgh Steelers 34-17 victory showed both their offensive and
defensive dominance. The Steelers' defense caused four turnovers, including two
interceptions and fumbles. The Broncos did not have an answer to stop Steelers
quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. "Big Ben" was able to spread the ball all
over the field. I started to believe that Steelers wide receiver Cedric
Wilson, who had 5 receptions for 92 yards and a TD, was All-Pro.
Steelers Head Coach Bill Cowher should
be proud of his team's effort. They literally whipped the Denver Broncos. The
Steelers next challenge will be in Super Bowl XL against the NFC's number one
seed, the Seattle Seahawks. This is probably the best offensive and defensive
matchup in the NFL. I can't wait for this year's Superbowl.
