Socialized Healthcare
By: Jason Cunningham
In Canada, everyone has healthcare. In the
U.S., many people are without health insurance. Could socialized
healthcare be a solution to the problem of many Americans having no coverage?
Our brethren Canadians, to the north all have
healthcare. The system is an inclusive arrangement with no one left out. You may
have to be on a wait list for certain procedures. You could have an expected
wait, much longer than most Americans are accustomed to.
As a country what are we going to do about
healthcare reform? Will we continue to allow many Americans to be without health
insurance! It is clear things have not gotten better and will only get worse.
Each year we wait, the more it is going to cost us. The rising cost of
healthcare is much higher than the current rate of inflation.
Socialized healthcare could be a solution to
America's ailing system. It would prevent deaths in this country,
just because of costs, some people do not seek medical attention. Some may
argue socialized healthcare will prevent doctor's from making a decent living.
Yet socialized healthcare could produce a different effect. Doctors will
probably be busier. You could potentially have more patients as a doctor. More
importantly, the need to insure all Americans is of great importance. No one in
our rich land should be without healthcare.
