Why Lebron James Should Never Leave the CAVS!

By: Jason Cunningham (7/14/2006)

The name Lebron James is now as synonymous with the city of Cleveland, as once football great Jim Brown. In three years in the NBA, King James has not only established himself as an All-Star, but is already considered to be a NBA great.

People in Cleveland knew about Lebron James before he became a Cleveland Cavalier in 2003. In high school, Lebron James, who attended Akron St.Vincent-St. Mary, was already selling out the Gund Arena, but later named Quicken Arena, where he plays his home games now. When the Cavaliers landed the 1st pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, there was little speculation who they would pick. Syracuse's Camerlo Anthony was an afterthought.

Lebron James is now a Cleveland icon. There is a statue of him in front of the Quicken Arena that reminds you of Michael Jordan's in Chicago. The Nike "Witness" shirts were selling hotter than pancakes during the Cavaliers playoff run. The city of Cleveland is once again on the map. King James does not have to compete with the glitter or fame of movies stars or other music artists in Cleveland. Lebron might as well own the city.  He has been very good to the economy of the Cleveland area, the Cavaliers, and the NBA.
