Why Washington's Sean Taylor
was Luck to Be Ejected!
By: Jason Cunningham (1/09/2005)
Sean Taylor is one of the
fiercest competitors in the NFL. The young safety was fined $17,000 for
allegedly spitting in the face of Tampa Bay's Michael Pittman's face.
Fortunately, the Washington Redskins are not going to suspend him for a playoff
game. So he will be in the lineup come Saturday versus the Seattle Seahawks.
From the replay, it looked as if Sean
Taylor spitted at Michael Pittman. He then shoved Taylor in retaliation.
If Taylor was allowed to stay in the game, I would not have been surprised if
someone had put him out with an injury. What it appeared he done is disgusting.
I would never say that a player needs to be cheap shot or hurt, but Taylor could
have expected it.
The NFL has to rule regarding
suspension for spitting. It is a fine and ejection from the game. I am
sure in future, the young safety, Taylor will not appear to be spitting on
anyone. Hopefully by next season, Pittman is able forgive Taylor.
