Earnest J. Wilson, III,  The Most Underrated Coach in College Football

 By: Jason Cunningham

March 21, 2004

Some people may be wondering who is Earnest Wilson? He is the Tight Ends/Assistant Recruiting Coordinator at New Mexico State University. This may be of little interest to you, however Coach Earnest Wilson will be a NFL Head Coach within seven years. Already with an impressive coaching resume, he is primed for the challenge, yet patient enough to pay the necessary dues to seize the opportunity.

Earnest Wilson holds the distinction of having the most wins as a head coach in Arena Football League 2 history. As coach of the Jacksonville Tomcats, he put together two successive seasons as the Head Coach and Head of Football Operations. Coach Wilson also served as Head Football Coach and General Manager for the Dayton Skyhawks in 1999. Also, Wilson has coached thirty football players that have played for higher professional levels including the NFL, CFL, Arena Football League One, etc.

His resume of coaching experience should cause any NFL General Manager to make an offer. From being a graduate assistant under Joe Paterno, a NFL preseason intern for the Indianapolis Colts and Minnesota Vikings, and Head Coach of the Carolina Rhinos of Arena Football League 2. The commitment to excellence and learning under great football minds has enhanced Coach Earnest Wilson maturation as a coach. He has the experience that deserves immediate consideration for a Division I, college head coaching job or a NFL Assistant Coach.
